Her “Girl Next Door” charm and astonishing sexual technique inspired Damiano to write the script for Deep Throat. In the wake of its success, she became the very first “Porn Star.” An outspoken proponent of Sexual Liberation, she later became the poster child for the Anti-Porn Feminist movement.

Often misunderstood, she wrote no less than four contradictory autobiographies which only added to the confusion. When she contracted hepatitis in 1986, it was her porn fans who raised the funds to help pay for a life-saving liver transplant. Ultimately she rejected the feminists and returned to porn, posing for a “tasteful” centerfold before her untimely death in an automobile accident in 2002.
