We are preserving the quintessential works of Gerard Damiano Sr., beginning with his iconic film, Deep Throat. We will be completely restoring his most critically acclaimed films, which include The Devil in Miss Jones, Memories within Miss Aggie, Odyssey, The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue, Night Hunger, the cult classic Let My Puppets Come and Damiano’s masterpiece, The Story of Joanna, from the best availble elements.

The significance of Deep Throat and its role in the Sexual Revolution was due to its mainstream crossover appeal. People stood in line for the shared experience of watching the film, and for the first time, women went to adult theaters in significant numbers. Now, at a time when most porn is now watched on a smartphone alone under the covers, we invite you to join us to watch Deep Throat as a communal experience.

We will present Deep Throat as part of a series of live events in New York City on the Golden Anniversary of its release in June of 2022. Beginning with a screening of a vintage 16mm print of the film, and “Sneak Preview” of the restoration, a museum exhibition of original posters and memorabilia, ending with a Red Carpet Event in which we will premiere the 4K restoration.  A portion of the proceeds will go to help Old Pros, whose mission is to create the conditions to change the status of sex workers in Society.

ENGAGE

Each screening will be a unique experience which may include Pre-Event Receptions, After Parties, and Q&A sessions. These Talkbacks will allow audience members to speak directly with surviving cast and crew, or engage historians and academics in Panel Discussions. Other events may have Moderated Debates between First Amendment advocates and those who still feel the film should be banned. Gerard Damiano Sr.’s son and daughter will share stories of being on location in Miami during the filming of Deep Throat, the events leading up it, and the impact it had on their family.

MOBILIZE

We will then take Deep Throat on the road to select theaters across the country and around the world. This will be followed by a Gerard Damiano Sr. Film Retrospective, presenting the director’s best works, lovingly restored, and shown as they were originally intended to be seen, as a live, communal, theatrical experience. We will showcase some of the finest examples of Adult Films from “The Golden Age of Porn.”
