Laemmle Royal Theater
One of the most controversial, profitable, and iconic films ever made comes home to Hollywood as the World Tour to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of “Deep Throat” draws to a close. For one night only, the Laemmle Royal Theater will host a red carpet event with screening of a 4K Restoration, presented by the director’s son and daughter.
Doors open at 9:30PM, Shows starts at 10.
World renowned sexologist Dr. Susan Block will moderate the talkback following the screening. Gerard Jr. and Christar Damiano will share their stories of being on location in Miami during the filming of “Deep Throat” and growing up with “The King of Porn.” They will be joined by veteran Golden Age Porn Star Herschel Savage and the legendary Nina Hartley, whose careen in adult film spans 4 decades, to discuss the history, cultural impact, and controversies surrounding the film.

Dr. Susan Block aka "Dr. Suzy"
Dr. Susan Block (aka, Dr. Suzy) is a sex therapist, author, filmmaker, cable TV talk show host, and cultural commentator whose many credits include The Dr. Susan Block Show and HBO's Real Sex. She is the author of “The Bonobo Way: The Evolution of Peace Through Pleasure.”
Herschel Savage
Golden Age porn star Herschel Savage brought considerable acting chops, when he arrived on the scene in the early 1970s having studied under Uta Hagen, and renowned acting teacher Stella Adler. He would appear in Gerard Damiano’s 1977 film Odyssey: The Ultimate Trip” and go on to star in 5 more features for “The King of Porn.” He has appeared in 1,500 films over his 40 year career. You may remember him from the Golden Era Classic “Debbie Does Dallas.”
Nina Hartley
Nina Hartley is a legendary pornographic film actress and sex educator whose careen in adult film spans 4 decades. She explains that she sought a career in porn as a way to make a living by having sex and to be able to meet other bisexual women and indulge her exhibitionistic and voyeuristic streak. She worked together with Gerard Damiano Sr. at the start of her career, appearing in five of his films including "Young Girls in Tight Jeans and Deep Trouble" and "Splendor in the Ass."
Gerard Damiano Jr. and Christar Damiano
Gerard Damiano Jr. and Christar Damiano are the children of the late Gerard Damiano Sr., writer and director of Deep Throat. They are passionate about bringing to light the legacy and indelible impact their father's groundbreaking work has had.
The Laemmle Theater chain was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1938, by brothers Max and Kurt Laemmle, cousins of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle. Today, it is still family owned and operated with 8 locations in the Los Angeles area. The Laemmle Theatres are the subject of the 2022 documentary “Only in Theaters.”
